Ater Wynne thrives when the people, community and world around us thrive. We actively contribute to the communities in which we live and work, focusing our most significant contributions and volunteer efforts on programs for children, the arts, entrepreneurs and the environment.
We helped create the Oregon Children’s Foundation, the organization that developed the SMART (Start Making a Reader Today) reading program in 1992, and we continue to provide countless hours of pro-bono legal services to them. We were honored for our support of SMART with the American Bar Association’s first national Civic Literacy Award and the Children’s Foundation’s first Founders Award.
In everything we do, we take particular satisfaction in helping ideas take root and grow. Ater Wynne sponsored the Friends of Trees’ first tree planting in Portland’s Pearl District and we sponsor many of the Oregon Entrepreneur's Network educational programs. Throughout the firm we have adopted sustainable business practices that have earned Ater Wynne a BlueWorks Award from the City of Portland.
In addition to a wide range of cultural and business organizations, Ater Wynne supports the following charitable, educational and children’s organizations, either through active involvement or pro-bono legal representation:

Christie School for Children
